Several months later...

I found the process of being tattooed extremely empowering - it helped me to come to understand that I am a strong person who can see an event through to its conclusion, even if it is a painful and at times distressing one. And as a reward for my perseverance and courage I have a piece of collaborative artwork permanently inked into my back as a symbol of renewal and rebirth.

I am very happy with my tattoo, the process I went through, and how it is received by those around me. The most common reaction is 'That's so beautiful!', and it gives me pleasure to see it in the mirror when I go to bed at night.
